Google Contacts FCC Regarding Microsoft Leaking Confidential Android Source Code

August 12th, 2011

It appears that Google has another knife to pull on Microsoft , this time regarding Android source code, Google this week asking a judge with the US International Trade Commission to block a Microsoft “expert witness” in a Motorola lawsuit because this witness had “highly confidential source code” leaked to him by Microsoft. It’s not the least confusing situation in these patent posts we’ve been posting these past few months, that’s for sure, and I’m certain we’ll go through it again by the end of this post. The motion filed this week with the ITC, Google has requested that the court bar the so-called expert Dr Robert Stevenson from testifying on Microsoft’s behalf because Microsoft revealed TO Stevenson some source code Android and Microsoft had agreed to keep secret

Motorola KORE tipped in domain buying spree: XOOM successor?

August 5th, 2011

Could Motorola’s next tablet be the KORE? That’s certainly one possibility, after the company was spotted going on a domain-buying spree earlier this week.  Fusible  caught five domains -  MotorolaKore.com ,  KoreMotorola.com ,   Moto-Kore.com ,  MotoKore.com  and  Motorola-Kore.com  - each using a variant of the same KORE name. The five purchases were only made on Wednesday this week, and so far none of the URLs link to any existing Motorola pages.

July 25th, 2011

While we can’t technically say it’s 100% official it has been just about confirmed that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Verizon 4G LTE will indeed be launching and available in stores starting July 28th. That is Thursday and is the exact date we suspected earlier in the week . It is exciting to see this coming to market but I’m still wondering where the 4G LTE hardware upgrade for all the Xoom owners went

Android Community Weekly : July 16, 2011

July 16th, 2011

It’s the middle of July and tech news this week has been rock steady! Lets start off by saying that Google+ is now available for international users ; and at this point it seems that all Google+ is missing compared to other social platforms is a wider userbase. In other Google news, their new project “Google Offers (Beta)” launched in NYC Tuesday. Think of this service as a way to save money with many different local businesses on a daily basis.

July 10th, 2011

Another week of tech news has come and gone, and in this issue of Android Community Weekly we revisit some rather interesting posts! First off, it’s the 2011 first annual Android Community TABLETPALOOZA ! In this first week, we’ll be giving away a free Acer Iconia Tab A500; a winner will be picked every Monday so be sure to sign up soon! Chris Burns was one of the first members of our staff to adopt the new social platform Google+ last week; we finally have our entire team up and running so be sure to add us to your circles ! This past Tuesday we were further informed of Verizon’s new tiered data fees that were confirmed for July 7th. Unfortunately, it is now too late to jump on the unlimited data plan for new subscribers, but previous 3G customers will still be able to get an unlimited tethering plan when upgrading to 4G LTE. For Verizon customers in the market for a new device, the HTC Thunderbolt may be available on the official Verizon website for free very soon .
