The initial update notification hit users phones but no update was actually available but it appears that is because a few different versions were all updated. I didn’t get any updates on my Tablet but a few phones all got the new YouTube so that could be part of the confusion

Nuance Dragon Go voice search app, Spotify launches in US with iPhone app, Nokia Maps beta works for iPhone

The app is Dragon Go and it will find more info on anything from music to movie times using just your voice. The Spotify music service has launched in the US after much waiting.

Sony-Ericsson launches XPERIA Branded Ray and Active
June 22nd, 2011Pictured to the left are the two newly announced Sony-Ericsson Android devices named the Ray and the Active respectively. The Ray being the newest “luxury” model of the XPERIA line, and the Active being a rugged dust-proof and water resistant handset. Both are running Gingerbread, which is good news, but have some different specs as they are targeted at different market segments. Check the specs and full press release out after the break, along with two videos of each handset. As you can imagine, the Active handset is built to be a little more rugged, targeted at outdoor enthusiasts, Sony is marketing the unit as one that can take the wear and tear of an “active” lifestyle. The Ray is your more traditional handset, sporting the higher end features that the Active sacrifices for battery life. Both units were announced for release in Asia, no word on stateside release yet but I would be surprised if we do not see them at some point. The videos for both handsets are below, as well as the full press releases

US Cellular Samsung Mesmerize gets a bug fixing update
June 14th, 2011US Cellular’s version of the ubiquitous Samsung Galaxy S, the Samsung Mesmerize , has just received a maintenance software update that fixes bugs and adds some security patches. It is for the latter that you should not postpone updating, even if you find you haven’t encountered the bugs that this update fixes.
