Verizon moves to kill illegal tethering on hacked phones

Verizon is following in the footsteps of AT&T and has announced that tethering on hacked smartphones will not be tolerated anymore. Verizon is out to stop the people that are tethering their smartphones using unofficial apps like MyWi from consuming more data than Verizon thinks is fair. The carrier wants the illegal tethering users to fork over more loot for official tethering support

UK: Samsung Galaxy S II now just £29 with £21.5 per month contract

If you’re in the UK and want to have the latest and greatest superphone, then you probably already know of the Samsung Galaxy S II . This beast, announced back in February at MWC, tops all other smartphones on the market in terms of specs and raw power, and it’s been available in the UK for a while – even outselling the iPhone 4 ! However, as it is a top of the line device, you had to choose expensive monthly plans in order to get the Galaxy S II for cheap or free. Not anymore, though.

LG Optimus Black gets priced in the Philippines, lands next week

The LG Optimus Black is about to become available it seems, after a delay. First we heard that the smartphone will be in stores in the UK next week , and now it’s the Philippines’ turn. According to YugaTech , the Optimus Black will also hit the Philippines next week, for an asking price of Php 19,990 (that’s approximately $465 or EUR 320)
