MAX GO Now Available from HBO

August 14th, 2011

MAX GO, the mobile Android application for Cinemax subscribers, is now available in the Android Market. Similar to HBO GO, this service will be available after users authenticate their cable/satellite provider’s information. Any movie or series available to Cinemax on demand will be available for mobile use on MAX GO.

Sony Ericsson Announces Qriocity Video Service for Xperia Devices

Today the good folks at Sony Ericsson have let the world know that a brand new video service for Xperia phones will be launching starting on August 1st, 2011. This service will allow users to either buy or rent movies and television shows, this service complimenting the mobile brand’s recently announced cloud based digital music service “Music Unlimited.” The video service Qriocity will initially be pushed to Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro in nine markets with localization of content and movies – that means if you’re in Germany, you probably won’t get the movie Purple Rain.

Toshiba Thrive update will cure sleepy tablet next week

Toshiba is readying a new firmware update for the Thrive tablet, that will address the sleep issues some owners have reported. According to the company, “a software update to resolve this issue will be available early next week and can be accessed from the Service Station utility app found on the Thrive at that time.” No explanation for the cause of the issue has been given. Some users have found that their Thrive tablet refuses to resume from standby when the power button is pressed, and requires a reset in order to get it working once more; others have had to pull the battery completely in order to get the slate functional.

Lets start off by saying that Google+ is now available for international users ; and at this point it seems that all Google+ is missing compared to other social platforms is a wider userbase. In other Google news, their new project “Google Offers (Beta)” launched in NYC Tuesday. Think of this service as a way to save money with many different local businesses on a daily basis.

Best Buy quietly launches Music Cloud

While still awaiting an official announcement of its release, Best Buy’s new Music Cloud service is now live. The cloud music service acts much like Google and Amazon’s offerings, albeit with a hybrid pricing model. Users upload their music collections to Best Buy’s servers (no matching), and can then stream them from a Web interface or a mobile application
