RIM has kept its promise and today launched the BlackBerry Playbook – its first tablet. For the moment, the PlayBook is available only in the US and Canada, but it will be introduced in other markets starting later this quarter. As you may already know, the PlayBook – presented by RIM as “the world’s first professional-grade tablet” – has three versions: 16GB (priced at $499), 32GB ($599), and 64GB ($699)

New BlackBerry Touch Monaco shows up in hands-on photos

Previously seen in a leaked RIM 2011 roadmap (alongside other unannounced BlackBerry smartphones), the BlackBerry Touch Monaco has now appeared in some live, hands-on photos. According to BGR , the BlackBerry Touch will run BlackBerry OS 6.1.

BlackBerry PlayBook will officially support Android apps

RIM has surprised the world by announcing that its first tablet – the BlackBerry PlayBook – will support Android and BlackBerry Java applications. Unfortunately, this won’t happen from the first day the tablet launches (April 19), but only starting the summer.
