Samsung Galaxy Tab to get Exclusive content including apps and games

SAMSUNG ANNOUNCES CONTENT DEALS WITH THE FT AND WHSMITH FOR THE UK LAUNCH OF THE GALAXY TAB Portfolio of launch content announced as Samsung Galaxy Tab hits the shops 28th October, London, UK – Samsung today announced content deals with WHSmith and the Financial Times (FT) for the launch of the Galaxy Tab, which arrives in UK stores on Monday 1st November. Samsung also announced details of its partnership with leading software developer, Gameloft, to create gaming titles designed specifically for the seven inch device. The ultra-portable Galaxy Tab features a seven inch screen, 1GHz processor, Google’s Android 22 Froyo operating system, a front facing camera for video calls and a TFT-LCD display.

  Galaxy Tab is expected to get its first official unveiling at the IFA next month but we’ve got the first leaked firmware , courtesy of folks from Samsungfirmwares. Meanwhile, we also received some information regarding its specs, features and its operators. As the firmware leak suggests, Galaxy Tab’s model number is indeed GT-P1000 and the few things we know so far as follows: Display: The 7-inch screen will support WSVGA resolution (1024×600).

NOOK for Android spreads Barnes & Noble’s ereader ambitions

Barnes & Noble has released its Android ereader app , promising synchronization with existing ebook download libraries and the ability to access the retailers more than one million titles direct from your Android smartphone.  NOOK for Android is a free download for Android 1.6 phones or above, and supports various fonts and font sizes, portrait and landscape orientation reading, numerous page transition animations and the broadly-used ePub ebook format. If you’re already using a nook standalone ereader, or B&N’s applications for PC, Mac or iPad, you can sync over your reading status to the new Android app; if you’ve read ahead on one, it’ll automatically whip you to the same place on the other platforms
