September 7th, 2011

It appears that Google’s Seoul offices have been raided today by Korean trustbusters looking for information on the possible stoppering of search opponents in the company’s mobile operating system Android. Search engine company NHN (popular in the area) and Daum Communications this past April asked the country’s Fair Trade Commission to investigate Google’s mobile search business practices

Samsung Galaxy Y and Galaxy Y Pro Revealed [Video]

August 25th, 2011

Two devices at the bottom of the price scale delivered to the public today via a specs list and press images are the Samsung Galaxy Y (Y for Young) and the Galaxy Y Pro. Something to note here is that Y for Young means those getting into the smartphone game or just those literally young of age – certainly this has nothing to do with Jay-Z who is also known as Young – keep that in mind. What you’re getting here are two lovely looking bottom-of-mid-range devices made by Samsung to bring people into the Android fold on their TouchWiz interface so they’ll love it so much they’ll never go back.

Google Contacts FCC Regarding Microsoft Leaking Confidential Android Source Code

August 12th, 2011

It appears that Google has another knife to pull on Microsoft , this time regarding Android source code, Google this week asking a judge with the US International Trade Commission to block a Microsoft “expert witness” in a Motorola lawsuit because this witness had “highly confidential source code” leaked to him by Microsoft. It’s not the least confusing situation in these patent posts we’ve been posting these past few months, that’s for sure, and I’m certain we’ll go through it again by the end of this post. The motion filed this week with the ITC, Google has requested that the court bar the so-called expert Dr Robert Stevenson from testifying on Microsoft’s behalf because Microsoft revealed TO Stevenson some source code Android and Microsoft had agreed to keep secret

Today we’ve got our Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi version hooked up with the newest version of what Samsung has dubbed TouchWiz UX. This user interface reflects what the Samsung Galaxy S II is using with TouchWiz 4.0 with several enhancements that are unique to tablets.
