Amazon has launched a new web-based Kindle app , http://read.amazon.com/ , using HTML5 to offer the ereading experience within the browser. However, while the app appears to be a workaround to avoid Apple’s limitations on native iOS apps containing links to external stores, it seems Amazon is also leaving Android out in the cold

Virgin Mobile USA has added a new phone to its line-up of QWERTY devices: the LG 200. The phone is a candybar with a full QWERTY keyboard, a 2.2 inch display of unknown (probably low) resolution, Google Maps, Opera Mini, email, Bluetooth, voice dialing, and a VGA photo camera. The battery of LG 200 can provide a talk-time of up to 4 hours, or a stand-by time of up to 12.5 days

Sharp has recently released two new phones in India: the Sharp Alice SH0037D and the Sharp Tango SH6017D. Both handsets come with Opera Mini pre-installed, so users will have a quick way of accessing the web while on the go. Apart from featuring Opera Mini, the Sharp Alice has a 2.8 inch WQVGA (400 x 240) touchscreen display, G-sensor, Bluetooth 2.1, Music and video players, FM radio, 3MP camera, and MicroSD card support.
