Motorola Xoom Upgraded to 4G LTE in the wild

More Motorola Xoom 4G LTE news is coming out today. I guess I’ll start calling it 4G since the update is coming soon although we can’t call it the first 4G LTE tablet since the Galaxy Tab 10.1 stole that title. What we are seeing now is a Motorola Xoom with full 4G service in the notification tray below.

iOS 5 Cuts Cord, adds Location-Based Reminders and Notification Center

Continuing its push for a post-pc market, Apple’s latest iOS 5 release is all about an all-in-one user experience right out of the box. It will allow iPhone, iPod and iPad device users the ability to start using their devices immediately without having to sync to a desktop or laptop. Among the other 200+ updates include a new Notification Center, which will act as a convenient place to check all notifications at a glance and the new location-aware Reminders app. There were a total of 10 updates that were demoed at the World Wide Developers Conference held Apple in San Francisco on Monday, of which are outlined below

Nook Color 1.2 update bricking some tablets

I mentioned this week that the Barnes & Noble Nook Color Android-powered eReader was getting an update to version 1.2 . The new update was notable because it is the first official step by B&N to bring the Nook Color to full Android tablet status. At the time, I talked about the update, I mentioned it would be rolled out automatically, but users not wanting to wait could apply the update manually.

ViewSonic GTab update adds Flash and USB peripheral support

ViewSonic has pushed out a firmware update for the GTab, which adds Adobe Flash support among other things. The new software – available as an OTA update – also adds to the GTab’s productivity abilities, as it throws USB keyboard and mouse support onto the Android slate.

Motorola Begins Prepping XOOMs for Flash 10.2 With Minor Update; Flash Arrives March 18
