Although Samsung and Apple are at legal war over patent disputes, the Korean giant released a statement mourning the death of Apple Chairman Steve Jobs who passed away after battling with pancreatic cancer at the age of 56. “Chairman Steve Jobs introduced numerous revolutionary changes to the information technology industry and was a great entrepreneur,” Choi Gee-sung, the chief executive and vice chairman of Samsung Electronics said in a statement. “His innovative spirits and remarkable accomplishments will forever be remembered by people around the world.” Recently, Samsung also filed preliminary injunction motion related to communication standards in Paris, France and Milano to block the sales of the recently launched iPhone 4S .

If you happened to be browsing the UK site SoMobile yesterday for some mobile news, you got a heaping helping of surprise when you found that a UK spokeperson supposedly confirmed the notion that all 2011 Sony Ericsson XPERIA devices would be getting Android’s next-gen mobile OS. From what we understand given the information we got from Eric Schmidt himself , this new version of Android will be released inside October or November of 2011. What we’re to understand now is that Android 4.0 has NOT been decided on for the XPERIA 2011 lineup as of yet, this being confirmed directly to Chris Davies of SlashGear in this morning’s UK afternoon

It should go without saying that 342 PPI on a smartphone display is big, it’s bad, it’s amazing. One of the things that makes the iPhone such a blockbuster device (amongst many things, I’m sure) is the fact that it (the iPhone 4, that is) has a 326 PPI on its display

It appears that Sony’s latest Android effort, that being the Sony Tablet S, will be on sale soon, currently showing up in several online shops for pre-order and shipping on the 16th of September.
