Amazon Coyote and Hollywood Tablets on the Docket

May 17th, 2011

Word is that Amazon is prepping not one, but two new tablets to be released inside 2011. The first is a dual-core tablet by the name of “Coyote” and the second is a quad-core tablet by the name of “Hollywood.” This information comes via tipster to Boy Genius Report, and besides the basics, (names and processor possibilities,) not a whole lot more is known. They’re probably going to be wild and crazy though, as without the need for the Android Market, Amazon will be able to do whatever they like to the Android system placed on their devices – that means no requirements for any pre-loaded apps, for example.

The white iPhone story just won’t die. Only earlier today we learned that Apple officially stated that it would be (yet again) delayed, this time until “early next year”. The reason for this delay isn’t something that has been communicated, and nor was a reason mentioned for any of the previous delay announcements

Only a month after it’s release the Verizon Wireless Droid 2 is already the subject of discontinuation rumors. This time Boy Genius Report has gotten word that they plan on phasing out the DROID 2 in favor of the yet to be launched DRIOID 2 World Edition. This is an understandable move business wise; only manufacturing one, better model for sale in all of their stores will sure cut costs, hassle and even confusion among customers
