Nexus S 4G Peter Alfonso ROM Nightlys Available Now

It appears that longtime Droid-only ROM and Kernel developer Peter Alfonso has finally come over to the Samsung side to create a version of his Droid build “GPA17″ for Samsung’s Nexus S 4G. This ROM will be released soon, but for now you’ll be adventuring through some nightly builds one by one, helping Alfonso with his developing of said ROM until it’s ready for full release

Nokia Released X1-00 As Their Weapon To Gain “Next Billion”

Nokia has launched a new phone to gain their next billion users at “growth markets”, or simple called the developing world. The X1-00 form factor filled with orange color as main based and compliment with black. It will hit the retailers for €35 or less which around $48 USD.

Nokia E7 can be pre-ordered in India and the US

Surprise Delay for Google TV Causes a No-Show at CES

Posted by: Paul Weston December 20, 2010 LG, Sharp, Toshiba, and Vizio were all set for the stage  to unveil their version of Google TV at the upcoming CES show.  Unfortunately, Google has pulled the plug for now.  Google felt that the software was not yet ready, and instead of releasing an inferior product, they have forced the providers to hold off the launches for what New York Times calls “an unspecified amount of time.” Electronista states that the expected changes are a special GTV optimized version of the Android Market, a better Netflix interface, PIP (picture-in-picture) and some other random goodies from a firmware update. Electronista continued to say from a technical aspect: In technical concerns, the Atom processor has also struggled with any non-video Flash sources.

Android 2.x on 77% of devices claim Android Market stats

November 2nd, 2010

Android 2.x OS now accounts for 77-percent of the devices accessing the Android Market, according to Google’s latest figures .  The search giant recorded platform statistics for Android Market access in the two weeks up until November 1st, finding that 40.8-percent of devices were running Android 2.1 and 36.2-percent were running Android 2.2 Froyo. Android 1.6 devices are now at 15-percent of the platform share, while Android 1.5 is a mere 7.9-percent

Apps for the Army Wraps Up, Android Comes Out on Top

The Army has hosted a huge developer challenge, called Apps for the Army (A4A), which was meant to see developers create applications specifically tailored for the United States Army. The developers were allowed to choose either Android or iOS as their platform, and the Army would then choose a winner in five categories: Training, Location Awareness, Information Access, Miscellaneous, and Mission Specific
