We all know that HTC acquired Beats Audio with the intentions of bringing better audio fidelity to HTC Android phones. We have heard tons of news regarding this the past few weeks, and just this morning HTC announced the HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio .

We’ve gotten our first peek at what may well be the next generation Samsung Galaxy S II, or at least the idea of it, in a short 30 second teaser trailer for IFA 2011. This trailer is at the moment no longer available for public viewing (and will probably remain this way until we get a bit closer to the actual Berlin event,) but based on what we’ve seen, IFA 2011 is sure to have an “Unpacked” event that’ll reveal some sort of newness in the smartphone-holding hands of citizens in the form of bright lights. This advertisement took the form of the handheld torches sort of look we’ve been treated to in the past when the Galaxy S II was first teased, this new ad revealing not just a whole heck of a lot of additional info on the subject

Back in June Skype for Android gained the ability to make video calls. The catch was that only a few smartphones were supported in the initial launch.

At first HTC completely dismissed Android 2.3 Gingerbread and stated the Desire would not get the update , saying they couldn’t fit their Sense UI and Gingerbread both on the internal storage of the device. They later changed that tune after a huge outcry from the public. Newest reports on Facebook indicate all you Desire users will see Gingerbread roll out this month.
The smartphone known as the HTC Kingdom has passed through the FCC.

Bad news if you were holding out for Android 2.3 Gingerbread on your HTC Desire . The company has announced that, despite its engineers working on the upgrade “for the past few months,” memory concerns will see it scrapped. Previously, carriers had told Desire owners they could likely expect the Gingerbread update at the end of April or early May .
