Report: Google set to announce NFC payment system May 26

Bloomberg reports that Google plans to announce a mobile payment service on May 26. The Nexus S on Sprint will be the first device to take advantage of Google’s NFC-based technology that allows compatible mobile phones to make payments at physical retail stores. When Google added NFC support to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) earlier this year , the NFC-capable Nexus S seemed the likely guinea pig for the long-rumored service.

Wireless carriers abandon dreams of replacing VISA with NFC-enabled devices

Isis, a joint venture from AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, was formed with the idea of using Near Field Communication enabled devices (like Google’s Nexus S ) to replace credit cards. They also had aspirations of replacing (or at least competing with) the credit card companies themselves, and using terminals to accept payments directly, billing clients on their existing wireless bills.

HTC Sensation official with 4.3″ qHD display, 1.2GHz dual-core CPU

As expected, HTC has unveiled the HTC Sensation , the company’s new dual-core flagship, at its London event today. The phone previously known as the HTC Pyramid is headed for a global launch in May/June 2011 – with Vodafone as lead European carrier, T-Mobile USA (as the HTC Sensation 4G with, as the name suggests, HSPA+ connectivity) in the US, and on various Asian carriers (tbc). The Sensation has a Desire HD scale 4.3-inch touchscreen only running at qHD 540 x 960 resolution

Samsung Galaxy Tab Review

A few years ago, when tiny and thin phones like the Motorola RAZR and Pantech C3000 came out and became hugely popular, I felt like the forthcoming trend in cell phones was: the smaller the better.
