Notion Ink Adam GPS Mapping App Demoed in Official Video

December 27th, 2010

Hot on the heels of the other holiday-weekend videos boot screen, browser demo, and hardware demo, this is the demonstration of Notion Ink Adam’s GPS Mapping app. This app is developed by Merio, and rather than just enlarging Google Maps to its giant 10.1-inch display, Adam brings forth this whole new lovely situation supporting POIs, turn-by-turn directions, and of course, 3D! Merio is a developer group that’s little known to the world as of yet, but with wild creations such as this, they’ll soon be coming out with a vengeance we bet. It’s still unclear whether the data for this mapping app is cached, locally stored, or accessed over Wifi since no technical details beyond what’s shown in the video are revealed.

Clear photos of the MeeGo-based Nokia N9 leaked?

August 19th, 2010

Nokia’s very first MeeGo smartphone, the N9, has apparently showed up in some relatively high-quality photos. The device seen in these new images looks like that alleged N9 appeared a couple of months ago , and not like the handset that Negri Electronics tried to pass as the N9 (this was likely the N8-01 , or a Symbian device anyway). We still don’t know a lot about the features of the Nokia N9, so let’s stick to what’s obvious (assuming that what we’re seeing here is indeed the N9) : it has a wide touchscreen display, a full QWERTY keyboard that seems easy to use, a front-facing camera, and a flash-equipped photo camera on the back.

When the 3G came out, I bought that model too. The first iPhone captivated the world because the interface was so well done, so snappy, so interactive; it was like nothing before it
