Sprint and Boost Mobile may have the Motorola i1 rugged handset all to themselves, but it appears that T-Mobile is prepping to launch a mighty competitor to that model. A new Motorola smartphone running Android and going by the codename Jordan is set to be released by T-Mobile in November.

Motorola i296 Now Avaialble on Boost Mobile
June 9th, 2010
Boost Mobile may like to get everyone’s attention for some device launches, but apparently they’re also perfectly complacent with slipping some onto their network under a hushed breath. The Motorola i296 has apparently been available for a couple of days now, and considering the specs and features, we can see why Boost wouldn’t necessarily go out of its way to announce its arrival.

The i296 is a standard candy-bar styled phone. It’s a rugged, push-to-talk handset, which currently makes use of Boost Mobile’s iDEN network. On the back of the handset you’ll find a camera, which will also give you the ability to capture video while you’re on the move. There’s an integrated web browser, Bluetooth support, and a media player. You can have it right now on Boost Mobile for only $60, with no mail-in rebate to hold you back. You’ll also get access to GPS, if that helps you decide.
