Boost Mobile has announced that it will be putting an additional $5 charge on the Android phones that people use on its network. The notification of the price increase was placed at the bottom of the details on the rewards program called the shrinkage plan that lowers the users rate after a certain amount of payments made on time. Boost isn’t the first mobile carrier to add an additional fee to Android devices

April 5th, 2011Nokia will host a somewhat mysterious event next week (April 12) in London, where the company plans to unveil “what’s new with Symbian smartphones.” Assuming the event is about a new device, it’s quite possible that we’ll see the Nokia E6-00 – you know, that leaked touchscreen QWERTY handset that has high chances to be released in the US . Of course, the event could be about new software and not new hardware – Nokia promised big improvements for Symbian UI this year, so we might see just that.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo headed to Canada
April 3rd, 2011Just like the Xperia Play and Xperia Arc , the cheaper (but still high-end) Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo is also headed to Canada. The Android 2.3 smartphone has appeared over at Sony Ericsson Canada’s website ( here ), although we don’t know when it will be released in the country. Theoretically, all three major Canadian carriers – Rogers, Telus, Bell – could launch the Xperia Neo, as the smartphone has been approved by the FCC to work on the 850 and 1900 MHz UMTS frequencies.

Rugged Motorola Jordan will be on T-Mobile
