7-inch Acer Iconia Tab A100 gets priced at Walmart

The 7-inch Honeycomb-running Acer Iconia Tab A100 just got priced at Walmart, which is more than a bit odd. First of all, because the tablet itself is still nowhere to be seen in Walmart stores – it’s just literally the price (tag) which is getting all the attention today.

Ice Cream Sandwich – Full Google I/O Details

Lets begin this chat by noting that they certainly did not say a whole heck of a lot. At the first hour-long keynote speech of the conference, Google whipped through a plethora of news bits, Ice Cream Sandwich certainly not the one winning the attention contest. The greatest moment was the reveal of the excellent logo mark that’ll be coming along with the update to Android, it and the name being a metaphor for exactly what the new system would be doing for the mobile OS: integrating it.

Galaxy S II gets root-friendly insecure boot ROM

The Samsung Galaxy S II has only been on the market for a short while – and units are still in high demand – but we’ve already seen one of the first hacks of the smartphone. MoDaCo’s Paul O’Brien has come up with a custom GSII insecure boot image that allows for adb shell root and adb remount. The ROM itself doesn’t actually root the Galaxy S II, but it will allow owners to push the su binary and Superuser APK required for root

Android tracks users too [Report]

Fresh on the heals of controversy that Apple’s iPhone 4 OS collects location data on users, a recent report shows that Google’s Android system performs the same spying functions. Security experts have found that the Android OS collects location based data every few seconds and transmits it to Google several times an hour. In addition to a user’s location, the Android OS also catalogs a user’s name, signal strength of nearby hotspots, and the phone’s unique identifier

Adobe Mobile Connect Updated to Version 1.5

Posted by: Drew Dauffenbach March 29, 2011 Adobe has released an updated version to their original Adobe Mobile Connect solution for Android with its main focus of this release is geared towards Android tablet optimization.  Adobe is trying hard to enhance the reliability and improve confidence that its users can in fact have meetings on-the-go.  The entire interface has been updated along with a few new features.
