For those of you who know what this means, head below for the link directly connecting you to the files you’ll be needing to hack up the world. Android 2.3 Bests iPhone in Browser Battle

March 17th, 2011

Posted by: Scott Webster March 17, 2011 Blaze, a company designed to help clients optimize their websites ,  recently conducted study of mobile browsers to see which was faster.  Pitting Android 2.3 against iOS 4.3 there could only be one winner.  If you read the headline coming in, you already know what happens.  Let’s break the details down a bit though, shall we? After 45,000 page loads it was found that Android’s browser is a “whopping” 52% faster than the iPhone browser.  In fact, when tested across the Fortune1000 websites, Android came out on top 84 percent of the time.  To be fair, the iPhone’s median load time (3.254 seconds) is very close to the Android median load time (2.144 seconds).  In real world scenarios, one second longer is negligible

Immersion Releases Haptic Feedback SDK for Android

March 11th, 2011

Posted by: Chuck Falzone March 11, 2011 Immersion Corporation, who has been a leader in touch feedback technology, has released MOTIV SDK 1.0, a tool kit for Android developers to easily integrate a variety of haptic feedback into their applications. Haptics are the touch-based feedback you get from your phone, such as the little buzz that tells you you’ve long-pressed long enough. But what Immersion has for developers goes way beyond a simple buzz. Their MOTIV SDK allows access to a library of hundreds of pre-designed effects, from simulating the vibrating strings of a guitar to the kickback of various weapons and explosions.

Wave Launcher App Review [VIDEO]

March 10th, 2011

Posted by: Phil Esposito March 10, 2011 Before you skip over this review because you love ADW Launcher EX or some other launcher, let me first say that is not a launcher, like a home screen launcher, its a launcher in the sense of quickly launching five applications.  Now, Wave Launcher is a wave like pop up app bar. In a bit less confusing terms, you activate the “wave” by dragging up from the bottom of your screen or left/right, depending on your preference. Once your drag your finger, a bar with 5 (self set) applications will show up and you just drag your finger back and forth on the wave to select one of the applications
